God’s Love For Mankind

February 16, 2013 in christian thought, faith, forgiveness, love, sin

We celebrate Valentines on February 14th, every year but we celebrate our true love at Easter. “For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten son, that who soever believes in Him should have everlasting life.” John 3:16.  What love He has shown us, what kindness. God in His holiness could not save us because of our sin but He made a way through His son Jesus Christ. He left His royal thrown with His Father willingly, not forced, no resentment, like a lamb to the slaughter. How awesome is that! Read the rest of this entry →

Surrendering To Christ

June 7, 2012 in christian thought, faith, sin

Just thinking of all that Jesus has done for us, one would think that surrendering to Him would be easy but it isn’t. We are sinners saved by the grace of God, we fight daily to resist the power of the flesh. If it were in ourselves alone we have hope in living a Christ centered life, we would have failed. He says to cast our cares on Him because He care for us. We in ourselves cannot overcome our enemy, the devil. He is too crafty for us. Read the rest of this entry →

What Are We Hiding?

March 31, 2012 in christian thought, faith, forgiveness, love, sin

The truth will set us free. Carrying sin around in our lives will bog us down and cause us to live in constant fear of being found out. Sin within will eat us out like a cancer. God already knows all of our failures and He still loves us but He will never tolerate sin. His goal for our lives is to have children that have overcome the world and have total dominance through His Spirit over our flesh. He is looking for children who have totally submitted their lives and their will to His will and His cause. God always has a plan for us. Our responsibility is to find out what it is. We are humans who are prone to failure, therefore it takes the Holy Spirit of God to guide us to God’s plan for our lives. He will remove the sin from our lives, but we have to confess it and give Him access to the affected area so that He can heal and restore it to what He created it to be.

Forgiving Yourself When God Has Forgiven You

March 12, 2012 in christian thought, faith, forgiveness, love, sin

When Christ has forgiven us He never leaves a lingering hint of condemnation. He isn’t the one that causes us to feel guilty, it is ourselves. Are we more holy than God? Does He need help to make us pay for the sins that He has forgiven? Once He has forgiven us, He really forgives us. He wipes the slate clean and starts us a fresh. We allow the enemy of our souls to condemn us with our guilt and render us paralyzed, incapable of being used by God. Not because of Him but because of us. God does not have a double mind and He never goes back on His Word. He says that when we recognize our sins and we confess them He will forgive us. We have to accept His forgiveness and move on with God. Christ is our mediator, always standing at the Father’s right hand, defending us.

This does not give us a license to continually practice sin but it does give us a way to forgiveness. God knows our hearts and He knows that we are prone to sin but Christ has paid the price for our sins and therefore we have an advocate with the Father. Trust the Word and He will set you free from the paralyzing grip of guilt and condemnation. Let go of it and free yourself so that God can transform your life and create a clean heart and a renewed mind.
