Surrendering To Christ

June 7, 2012 in christian thought, faith, sin

Just thinking of all that Jesus has done for us, one would think that surrendering to Him would be easy but it isn’t. We are sinners saved by the grace of God, we fight daily to resist the power of the flesh. If it were in ourselves alone we have hope in living a Christ centered life, we would have failed. He says to cast our cares on Him because He care for us. We in ourselves cannot overcome our enemy, the devil. He is too crafty for us.

When we decide that surrendering to Christ is a must in order to live a triumphant Christian walk, we will gladly lay it all at His feet at the foot of the cross. We are weak and He is mighty. We are foolish and He is wise. We are limited in all areas of our lives but He is infinite in all things. Surrendering to God is what we need to live victoriously in this world. He will break down all the strongholds that binds us to slavery in our flesh. He will transform our lives into a new creation, empty of self and filled full of Himself. God desires those who love Him above all else. Surrendering gives God the opportunity to work in us unhindered.

This entry reminds me of the verse in the bible that says we should take up our cross daily and follow Christ. Yes, we have to surrender to God daily because the enemy continually seeks to devour us, but praise God He who is in us is greater than he that is in the world. But, God does require us to surrender to Him daily.
